If you are interested in cyber security and ethical hacking, a security-focused operating system is one of the most important things to have.

Having the right OS makes it easier for you to complete time-consuming and tedious tasks efficiently.

This article will demonstrate the simplest method for installing Linux on your systems. I will walk you through the process step by step.

What is Linux?

Linux is an operating system just like Windows, iOS, and Mac OS. In fact, the Linux operating system powers one of the world’s most popular platforms, Android.

The operating system controls communication between your software and hardware. The software would not work without the operating system (OS).

What is a distribution?

There are different versions of Linux for different types of users. These are known as Distributions or Distros. Debian, Ubuntu, and Linux Mint are a few examples.

Almost every Linux distribution is available for free download.

Which distribution is suitable for you?

If your computer knowledge is limited, you should stick with a beginner-friendly distribution like Linux Mint or Ubuntu.

If your skill set is above-average, you could use a distribution such as Debian or Fedora.

And If you’ve mastered the art of computer and system administration, use a distribution like Gentoo.

If you’re looking for a real challenge, you can use Linux From Scratch to create your own Linux distribution.

Many Linux-based operating systems are available right now, but Kali Linux is undoubtedly one of the best options.

Why should you use Kali Linux?

Kali Linux is a free, open-source operating system based on Debian GNU/Linux.

Kali Linux provides advanced penetration testing capabilities to security professionals and network administrators.

It includes many tools for hacking, forensics, analysis, exploitation, and auditing. It is developed by Offensive Security (OS).

Kali Linux is Free And Open Source Software

Open Source Software is customizable. Since it is open to modification, developers can customize the software to fit the specific needs of their customers. Anyone can access the source code and use it without paying licensing fees.

Kali Linux Has Many Built-in Penetration Testing Tools

Kali Linux comes preinstalled with over 200 penetration testing tools. These tools help you test your web application’s vulnerabilities, find out if your server is vulnerable to SQL injection attacks, scan networks for vulnerabilities, etc.

Kali Linux Is Very Easy To Install

You don’t need any special skills to install Kali Linux. You can easily install it on a virtual machine. You can also install it on your non-rooted android phone.

Kali Linux Includes Many Useful Features

Kali Linux includes many useful features such as a graphical interface, a command line interface, a web browser, SSH client, FTP client, HTTP proxy, IRC chat client, etc.

Kali Linux Can Be Used As A Live CD Or An Operating System

Kali Linux is what you need if you’re looking for a live CD or an operating system. You can boot from the CD or run it directly from the hard disk without installing it.

Kali Linux Has Great Documentation

The documentation included in Kali Linux is very detailed and covers almost everything about the OS. Many tutorials and videos online teach you how to use Kali Linux.

How to install Kali Linux

I will demonstrate how to install Kali Linux in Virtual Box in this tutorial. First, we must install virtual box in order to install Kali Linux on it.

Note: If you are using a low configuration PC, installing Virtual box may slow down your PC. But don’t worry. In this article, I will also show you how to install kali Linux in a Pendrive. So you can use kali Linux directly on your PC without installing Virtual box. But first, let me show you how to install kali Linux in a virtual box.

What is Virtual Box?

VirtualBox is a free software application that allows users to create and run their own virtual machines (VMs). A VM is a piece of software that emulates a computer system using hardware resources provided by the host operating system. Users can install Kali Linux on a virtual machine and use it just like they would any other physical PC.

How to install Virtual Box?

At first, you have to download Virtual box software Click here and download virtual box for your operating system.

Then Click here and download the Extension pack for virtual box.

Once you’ve downloaded these files, you’re ready to begin the installation process. double-click the VirtualBox software that you previously downloaded.
